It is no secret that I love Holly Fulton. So when my editor asked if I could interview her about the Talent Launch Pad collaboration with Elle Magazine and The British Fashion Council I jumped (bungee style) at the chance. I was nervous, and to be honest, didn't really know what I was doing. Having only conducted interviews over the phone ( Including the hat milliner Stephen Jones - I couldn't have been more nervous!) or via email, interviewing face-to-face I felt was a little out of my depth. But I gathered my emotional shizz together and got on with it - it is HF afterall! And in the end my tactic of talking to her like a friend worked out pretty well, as it turns out Holly is really sweet and funny and she instantly calmed my nerves. Well, that and the dozen cocktails I had consumed beforehand. That could have been disasterous thinking back now. I wore a HF necklace that night as well, which she had commented on, nicely breaking the ice. I grabbed my goodie bag and got the hell outta there, floating merrily home whilst waffling on about how great she was.

So here is the outcome of my interview. And above is the outcome of taking my boyfriend to the event - an amazing pair of HF earrings.

It is a well known fact that I am a bit obsessed with tea and everything to do with tea. So when I found these darling tea cup sets, I jumped with glee. And so, they were added to my collection. Made from real English bone china and 22 carat gold they will be perfect for sipping my Turkish teas out of! I can just tell it is going to be one of those things, you know, you go places and you collect stuff. Like my uncle travels and collects shot glasses, your nan travels and she collects napkins, or the salt and pepper sachets. I travel and I collect tea cups, or the local version. I also collect owls. I have Istanbul owl, London owl, Tenerife owl, Brazil owl, and many other owls in between. Yes, that's right, you mock now, but I will end up being THAT crazy lady with all the owls/tea cups. And then I realise, I am now.

I really cannot stop thinking about my impending trip to Marrakech. Inspirit, I am already there. Shopping. In body, I have a 9-5 job. 4 weeks on Tuesday though, and my body will catch up with my head. For now, I have taken to searching Flickr to browse other peoples trip snaps. And in doing so, came across these rather freaky 'Blythe out and about' photographs. Mia here has recently visited Marrakech. She just loved riding camels in the Sahara Desert and shopping at the Souks, apparently.

Can't wait to get my hands on the traditional slippers and jewellery....

I'm heading to the culture rich 'Red City', otherwise known as Marrakech, Morocco, for 7 nights in July. With the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert and the pulsing, peak summer heat, Marrakesh has plenty to offer. Highlights will be: staying in a traditional Moroccan House, otherwise known as a Riad, being woken up by the call to prayer everyday, riding a camel in the Sahara and haggling in the souks. My senses will be like a sponge, soaking up the exotic scents, scenery and sounds. And when that gets a little overwhelming, sipping mint tea by the Riad's beautiful pool will prove extremely relaxing. Literally cannot wait.

The Gaga Effect

Okay, I'll let you all in on a little theoretical underpinning of a recent celebrity trend I have been working on.

From her hair and her shoes, to her attitude and those increasingly risqué videos, the rise of Lady Gaga has been unprecedented. It has been crazy, and lets be honest someone like her was much needed. World domination is in her grasp, go Gaga! She says "it's okay, you can be different, just look at me". And that is kinda nice. She isn't the most gorgeous or typically beautiful looking and she may not wear what is inside the pages of fashion magazines, but doesn't that just make us love her more? I read magazines (okay, I read a lot) and when I get to a picture of her I think "wow, look at what she's wearing, isn't she great!" She's an icon, and it already feels as though she has been around for years. That is hard work for you.

So it is only inevitable that retailers alike would try to cash in on her style. Have you noticed? I'm sure sales for leotards have sky rocketed. Even Claire's Accessories brought out the clip-in hair bow. But you will not find most of her ensembles in the likes of New Look or River Island, for they are too daring for your Average Jess. They should probably belong in a museum. Or in her archive. Give it ten/twenty years and they will be on display at the V&A Museum. Her look is hard to replicate, as her outfits are custom made or couture, but retailers have homed in on the wearable pieces and the fashion volume has been cranked up a good few notches.

But there is now something new we are seeing, higher and newer realms and forms of the effect. Celebrities are upping their fashion ante. Their hair is bigger, their make up bolder and their outfits louder. Yes people, what we are witnessing here is what I like to call the "Lady Gaga effect". Stars from Beyonce to Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke, to name a few, have shed their old styles in favour of something a little more 'Gaga' and arguably, out of character. Even their music videos are crazier. Every time I see a Gaga Clone who has been hit by this syndrome I say, "this is a clear example of the Lady Gaga Effect". Like I'm some sort of scientist or something.

But just how far will they go?

Well, we found out the other day when morning television host Lorraine Kelly released pictures of herself looking a little (!) Gaga. Lorraine, I love you, I do, but this has trickled down low. Whoever next? Kerry Katona?! Oh god it hurts to even joke!

Oh I do love a good theory. Testing is ongoing.

Style memo: I bought into a piece of Ga, the Mac Viva Glam Lady Gaga lipstick, it is absolutely divine. A sort of one-suits-all lipstick. All proceeds go the MAC Aids Fund.

SJP shone at the annual Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala last night. Wearing Halston Heritage (when doesn't she at the moment?!). This is such a 'me' dress! So I inevitably searched Net-A-Porter hoping the price (and it never is) fits the purse, so to speak. Sigh. However, some pieces, including the shorter white dress that SJP has been seen in in many a press photo for the upcoming film, is rather purse friendly. Well, not friendly, but tolerable. Retailing at a little over £200. Same for the peach hued one shouldered number. Typically, the white one has sold out. Wonder how many of them we can spot at the premiere...

Wore my beloved butter ups today after painting my toenails last night a lovely mint hue, and the colour combination is just so lovely that I thought I'd share a little photo with you all. P.S. I had to get these shoes re-heeled today and I haven't even had them for two weeks - heck! They haven't been off my feet! You'd think I didn't have any other shoes...and we all know that's not true!

I'm forming a little bit of red carpet style crush on Carey Mulligan. It's so apparent that she is styled though that I can literally see her stylist. But negativity aside, she always gets it spot on! All the Prada and Lanvin actually just makes me feel a little jealous. And I don't get jealous often. Take her Oscar dress (above) for instance, another Prada number, accessorised to utter perfection, but it's all in the detail - sewn on miniature knives and forks! It's like something out of Alice in Wonderland (saw it in 3D, loved it). It defines her very essence, classic with a quirky twist. For those of you who haven't seen it, go and watch An Education, great film. I loved noting all the 60's trends.

With their soft leather and wearable heel (it's all about the wearable heel) they haven't been off my feet. So much so, I feel a bit sorry for what I'm putting them through.

It's busy times here at camp FS, so I do apologise for the lack of posts recently!

It started with my trip to Istanbul and ever since I got back I haven't stopped!

I've been doing some freelance writing for a well-known magazine, which has been going really well! I shall share my pieces with you when they get published! But I've just found it so exciting!

Then, through my contact at the magazine, I got a freelance job writing for ASOS! PINCH ME.

It was a great liability, but somebody has to do it, right?

So last Saturday saw me wander the streets of Manchester with a photographer taking shots of 'cool looking' guys and girls. Then when darkness crept upon us we head to The Deaf Institute to carry on with the shots. The end of the night saw us roll up at The Factory (FAC251), formerly known as The Hacienda, where Peter Hook (yes, the Peter Hook, co-founder of Joy Division and 1/3 of New Order) greeted us on arrival and treated us like VIP's all night. Well, all in the name of a good write-up...!

After the street shots, I accompanied the pictures with my wonderful words, and surprisingly, I found writing about the guys really interesting! Guy's fashion isn't something I usually put much emphasis on, but ever since, I'm analysing every guy that passes me! My eyes, my all judging eyes, have opened up just a little bit more.

Again, once the features are up on ASOS online and in their magazine, I shall share the links and some pictures with you all. How exciting!

On top of all this, uni work has been brobdingnagian!

And what a great collection it is. Magnificent prints and shapes with the quirky 'Holly' touches; the bigger-than-big necklaces, the statement clutch bags. The Fulton Girl is brave, cool, urban and doesn't really care what you think. I want to be her, who wouldn't?

Fashion zest!

I love the buzz surrounding fashion week, whether it be NY, Paris...even Lorraine Kelly is talking about it and speaking to Anna Wintour (!). I haven't begun dissecting the NY shows yet, but I'm excited, you all know I love Winter fashion! Thing is, and this happens all the time, is a little thing I like to call CSCD - Confused Seasonal Clothing Disorder. Where the magazines are saying we should be half way through the summer and wearing floaty garments, sandals and little else, when as a matter of fact, it's mid February and I awoke this morning to the sight of snow. And the weather man just said more is to come tonight. Great. So, yet again, I haul on my thick coat to go out, when what I actually want to be wearing are said garments in the magazines, actually. Then, when my mind is set, the A/W shows begin....oh the confused state!

This Friday sees LFW kick off. A few innovators of the industry have previously dabbled with live online streaming of fashion shows but this year will see a lot more designers following...from PPQ to Todd Lynn and Jaeger. With a hand full of designers really embracing the trend and creating 'fashion films', from the likes of Danielle Scutt (cannot wait), Hussein Chalayan (again, cannot wait) and Emma Cook. Solely revealing a collection online will never happen, it's all about the theatrics, but it's a great added extra in my opinion. An involvement for people who wouldn't otherwise be involved. I'll be tuning in.

This week also saw Agyness Deyn back on the runway, shame it was on all fours! The poor gal fell down...twice! Not really a good look - but look at that hair, shiny!

A Single Man, the Oscar-nominated film debut from Tom Ford, was a visual treat. Firth really does deserve the nominations, and the film as a whole is a deserved winner. Though it is up against Precious for a few awards...which was just sensational. Oh the anticipation! I can't wait for the Oscars. Such a film geek. If you want to watch something thought-provoking and generally quite clever, watch Logorama. It has been nominated for an Oscar, in the best short animation category, if I can remember rightly.

There is so much going on in the wondrous world of fashion right now! It really gets the mid-heel clad feet a-going with excitement.

Random fact: I am number 23 on the waiting list for the 'greige' Chanel nail polish. Tis the colour du jour this season. Kind of hilarious that it has its own waiting list though!

Long live the 'Queen

I know everyone will be blogging about this, but I wanted my twopence worth. McQueen has always been a point of major influence within the fashion industry, that big, that I just can't quite believe the news today. McQueen always created something different, something new, something unique, a true front runner of runway theatre. His presence on the runway will be wholly missed, leaving a gap that no designer will be able to fill.

His work is completely sewn into the seams of international fashion.

Alexander McQueen will be remembered.

Animal Instincts

Tonight, I went to the Cow student lock-in here in Manchester, just to see what was going on. Not to spend. Much. Just hopped along to partake in some fashionable festivities and drink some beer. Definitely two that shouldn't be mixed. I bought a boldly printed jumpsuit (another jumpsuit, I can almost hear my nearest and dearests grumble), bold indeed. Lioness peering out from the flower speckled bushes. In Africa, I like to imagine. Maybe wear with gold lion earrings? Or lion head belt? Or really indulge my Eliza Doolittle and team with bronze elephant necklace?

Go wild this Spring with animal prints!

What's more, due to the 15% discount tonight I got these small wedged black shoes for £1.20. Now that's a bargain.

Is exactly what it done when I saw Rachel Bilson in this beauty of a necklace/piece of art. I heard on the grapevine that it is Chanel. I sighed. Obviously the pennies don't stretch to Chanel. So you can imagine my glee when I was shopping last Friday and happened to go into French Connection (a rarity in itself), and look what the eyes saw, the card bought. The pictures do not do it justice. The pink is vivid. The gold the goldest of golds.

Can you really love a necklace? Well, if the neck fits....

Now, pointless posts about shoes and clothes that the majority can't afford, I tend to steer clear of. But there comes a time at the very beginning of each season when one looks ahead. When the Winter chills are still there (yes, we are still in January), but the hopefulness of Spring is in the air. The magazines, in particular, tantalise with their February issues. Featuring clothes we would freeze in, but are nonetheless, Spring inspiring. All of the above shoes, I need. Thou shall not be poetical about these shoes. But a high street retailer better copy them. And soon.

The cape? Well, I just put that in for good measure. A gal can't wear shoes alone.

Besides, those who know me, know my capes.

Life's a beach

Carrying on with the Prada theme, I just love this beach print coat, it's divine. With the typical British summer, this would definitely be one of my key pieces. If money were no object, of course. Though I may be inclined to wear a little more underneath than a pair of knickers. What? They're matching Prada beach knickers? Oh go on then!

The photographic prints are actually of a man-made resort in Japan, not, as I would like to believe, of a beach in Miami or California somewhere in the 50's.

Girl, you are so transparent

Miuccia Prada turned to 'Chandeliers!' as her source of inspiration for the new season. The collection saw glass embellished clothing strut their way down the catwalk, where tops and dresses had been dunked in chandelier remnants.

I do have a 'thing' for perspex, I have no idea why, maybe it's the fun factor? So when I was scrutinising Elle's Runway Edit yesterday, I paused over Prada, wait, do I see perspex shoes and bags? Indeed I do. It's fitting with the sport trend that's so prevalent for S/S '10, which also brings with it...mesh! Oh I'm in heaven! Now you all know I have a thing for mesh! Those Topshop beauties will be getting recycled, oh yes.

But, back to the shoes. Aren't they just to die? So simple (scratch the last pair...), so clean. I need. And I've always wanted a transparent bag. I don't know why, the contents of a girls' bag are very private, but what the heck, in the name of fashion...

Watching The Holiday for the third time this holiday season, I think signals that the actual holidays are over. Every morsel of food in the kitchen has been eaten, midnight has struck, the bubbles have fizzed, and the decorations are becoming tiresome. And nothing indicates 'a new year' like the bloatedness of a stomach and the inability to go to the toilet (sorry). I'll happily not eat another mince pie for a whole year. Or hear another Christmas carol.

And so, the 1st of January, the start of a new year, is the time to analyse the past year and take on the new, with the revitalised hope and enthusiasm to improve, better and generally promise oneself things that, usually, one breaks within a week. Why is it we do that? Does anyone ever stick to their resolutions? I tried to put pen to paper the other night, digging around for an answer to that question someone will inevitably ask me. And in order to not seem like a complete cynic (realistic?), I came up with one. One I already know I am going to fulfil: to travel more. Is it right to make a resolution you know you are already going to fulfil? Are there rules to the appointment of a resolution? More to the point, do people even remember their resolutions seven days post New Years day? So far, the word 'resolution' has not been uttered, maybe people have decided to live their lives without the worry of another task they have not yet completed. Like those ten-odd books that are waiting to be read, like that letter that still needs to be written and the million and one other things that niggle us every night, that overwhelm us with guilt as soon as our heads hit our pillows. No one likes to feel guilt, no one likes to fail, so unless you wholeheartedly believe you are going to stick to one, why bother making one?

What do you all think of resolutions? Do you make them? And more importantly, do you stick to them?

Now, I'm going to see this film to the end, but for one reason only, Jude Law. Now, if I had him, that's one resolution I'd definitely be keeping...

I was watching Land Girls (Christmas T.V. yadda yadda) and it got me a thinking...head wear! Y'know what with the cold weather an all, my ears are cold and I could sure do with something quirky to make them, erm, not. The answer:

To count, I have 5 turbans, 3 of which are half-turbans, 1 is a woolen turban and 1 is a lovely white one from Beyond Retro. I don't know why I bought one in white, I was thinking like a summer turban? But as it turns out, it's too hot in the summer for hats. Who knew?!

As you all know, it's absolutely Baltic out there! A coat's not enough, snoods, gloves, boots aren't enough...so what should we turn to? Fur! And who does fur better than anyone, besides the Russians? The Olsen twins, of course!

I know it's a small picture but the fur gilet MK is wearing in the bottom left hand is just to die...and don't get me started on that mink bag/fur collar combo...gahhh clothes envy every time Olsens!!

A few years ago, I came across the artist, Daniela Edburg. And it was probably due to the fact that when looking at a particular piece of her work, entitled 'Death by Oreos', it really struck a chord with me(!).

Has anyone ever eaten a whole pack of biscuits, most of the time not even realising, and ensuing after, the guilt of it all?

Well, Edburg plays on that. The consequences of our indulgences.

She says that it is not a criticism of anybody, just an exaggeration of her own reality.

And because they are relatable, though nevertheless slightly morbid, they do make you chuckle.

I haven't done an outfit post in a while (!), but I just had to show you all my feather capelet!

I have wanted one for so long now that when I saw Topshop had them in I pounced! Or should that be flew (?) at them...

It reminds me of Florence Welch a bit, somebody asked her to describe her style and she said something along the lines of:

"I like to look as if I am about to take flight".

I thought that was kind of endearing, I have always had the strangest obsession with all things 'bird'.

I think if I was an animal, I'd be an owl. But I don't know whether that's just me being idealistic. Everyone wants to be something good, don't they? When as a matter of fact I'm probably a rhinoceros, or a chinchilla. And nobody wants to think that of themselves. Yes, if I was an animal I'd be a rhino? Bird of paradise, I beg you pardon.

It feels like I have lost an arm, literally. Luella is my first point of inspiration, I know exactly when she shows her collection at LFW and I await furtively, ready to pounce upon any mention or picture of her new collection on Vogue.com. She's always fun, girly, frivolous! No serious this drape and that sleeve, but witch-like creations, quirky details and fun patterns. I think, 'what character will the Luella girl aspire to be this season?' And it never fails to excite me.

Look what I bought to keep out the wintry chills....a muff! Yes, I just said muff. How much do these remind you of being a kid?! I remember I had one to match my faux fur leopard print coat, it was also leopard print and made out of faux fur, and I adored it....if I remember correctly I also had a matching hat (!) I must have been 3/4 years old. I must have also looked like a Russian doll. Another muff lover (ahem) is SJP, she wore one in SATC: The Movie, remember? When they are supposed to be in 30/40 degree heat in Mexico and Carrie's wearing a muff? Apparently SJP begged Michael Patrick King to wear it. But she was a woman in need, after all.

This one is from Urban Outfitters. It's lovely and soft and has a gorgeous velvety interior. Snug!

Even Chanel done one, as sported by Rihanna. Badly, might I add.

I said to myself I would not purposely look at many of the S/S 2010 collections, mainly because I'm too darn excited about the cold weather (weird, I know) and I just don't want to think about summer palettes....short dresses and so forth. But I just couldn't help it!! Alexander McQueen has out done himself. Viktor and Rolf has stuck two fingers up to the recession. And, according to Chanel, tattoos are back in the form of many a chain around your arms and thighs and we'll all be frolicking around in the hay. Exciting indeed.

Now, everyone knows I'm not impartial to the odd jumpsuit....or 20! So imagine my glee when I turn to the back pages of Drapers magazine to see Lanvin has done jumpsuit after fabulous jumpsuit, I want them all! One thing for certain is jumpsuits are here to stay folks, and I couldn't be happier!

I awoke early, well, early for a student. And hobbled along to the opening of the new Topshop in Liverpool. We expected some queues, and there were. So we joined the back of the line and psyched ourselves up for hunting down the Christopher Kane collection and pouncing on the goods we knew were ours, as well as receiving a gift card that could behold between £5 to £500. Mine was £5, otherwise this post would be entirely different.

Being let through the doors, I tore the canvas organic cotton tote from the shop advisor looking a bit scared and made a beeline for my goods. Searched, found, hurriedly fumbled for the size. My size, joy!

Post purchase, we stumbled upon the pop-up 'cakes and cocktails' section and enjoyed a rather fruity mid morning tea cocktail, drinking before noon, my oh my!

The MTV VMAs were last night, and everyone knows what the best bit of any awards night is...seeing who wears what of course! Two gals that particularly stood out to me were Leighton Meester and Whitney Port. Meester of late has been trying her utmost to stock pile those brownie points, always looking fresh and fabulous, whether it is space age looking Louis Vuitton or something casual, but last night she rocked a totally fierce pair of Giuseppe Zanotti heels, just look at them! Then there was Whitney Port, and everyone knows I have a little style fixation on her! She wore Christopher Kane, and looked amazing, a little out of her usual style boundaries, but looking good! Minimal jewellery, letting the dress do the talking, the hair is all wrong though in my opinion, she should have gone for straight and sleek, or maybe a low sleek bun, but those legs make up for it. Leightons hair isn't good either, too much going on.

Well, it's actually au revoir to France and bonjour home as I flew back last night, but that doesn't stop me from wishing I was back there! I had a great time, I travelled around Nice, Le Cannet, Cannes, Aix En Provence and Marseille and the weather was gorgeous everyday, if only I had this tan all year round, sigh!

It's back to Manchester this coming weekend for my final year of uni, and I'm pretty excited, I love Manchester! So this week I'll be getting ready for that, it's like going back to school!

I bought this necklace from Brick Lane and I love it to bits! In fact, I love that stall very much, and the girl recognised me and gave me this necklace for cheaper. Well well well, this time last year I was embarking on a random, albeit a bit scary, adventure from home in the Wirral to London. I call it an adventure as it wasn't really planned at all. I had itchy feet, so booked a one way ticket to London and packed a bag and off I went! I often wandered London reciting the opening lines of Moby Dick by Herman Melville. While finding my feet I did have little or no money in my purse.

Call me Ishmael. Some years ago--never mind how long precisely--having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particularto interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a littleand see the watery part of the world. It is a way I haveof driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation.Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth;whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul;

Ishmael being Emma. The shore being home. London being the watery part of the world. Stretching my limbs in another city. My mouth was grim, indeed.

But not for long! My feet firm, and my Taurean horns dug into a comforting pattern, I found my sea. And the ship took me somewhere great.

And so, Wednesday, my final day at work, will be one of sadness.

But I shall also be excited, I am homeward bound! Then Manchester bound for my final year of uni. And of course a little holiday in between! Exciting times.

The picture: Liverpool meets London in an iconic photograph, The Beatles crossing Abbey road. Which, according to recent news is causing some traffic related trouble, whereby tourists are risking their lives for a photo walking across it! It might have to be removed...

The September issues of all the magazines - out this week! Li-Lo is gracing the cover of Elle! Talking about the September issues, I am also awaiting the documentary/film (docu-film? Filmentary??) 'The September Issue', following Vogue leader and editor extraordinaire Anna Wintour while she preps for the release of the most important date in the magazine calendar, yup you guessed it, the September issue! Does the Devil really wear Prada? We'll find out!

About a month ago I also signed up for The Zoe Report. Daily style, beauty and lifestyle reports by the Queen of bohemia - Rachel Zoe. I received an email this morning, they are to start tomorrow! I am ever so eagerly anticipating her first email! What are you waiting for? Get in on the action! She does mention a Philip Lim sample sale.....

Another little film is out at the moment too, Coco Before Chanel, I shall be going to the cinema on Wednesday with a few of the girls. Pre cocktails and pearls included.

Confused Seasonal Clothing Disorder

Or, CSCD, as I am now going to refer to it. As you all know, there has been no good weather, and yes you hear it on the street, in the newsagents picking up your Sunday paper, everyday at work, it's a very topical conversation on the lips of just about everyone who bloody resides here, but it's just so confusing! Clothes wise, I mean. July was a wash out, and now August is set to be just as unsettled. With no thanks to the Met Office, who declared we'd have a 'BBQ summer'...and then more recently declared it was so very wrong and they were so very sorry. Thanks for that.

So, I am going to move on to greener pastures. Nope, I'm not hopping on a one way flight outta here, unfortunately. I'm talking about A/W and a whole new fashion season!

I have before mentioned that CSCD does affect me, most of the year actually, when it's S/S in weather the A/W catwalks are happening, and then just as I'm wearing in my new winter boots (that's a lie, I own too many pairs of shoes to give any of them the chance of "wearing in", but just for the story's sake, we'll just pretend) the S/S collections spring up on us! Sorry for the pun. But now we are witnessing a whole other side to CSCD. What happens when it's July, the sun is supposed to be high in the sky and giving us golden tans and our new sandals are looking at us dying to be worn....but then temperatures are average (average for the UK is about 14 degrees, which makes 'average' appear oh so disappointing. One must remember it is the average for the UK and not, say, the average for India), rainfall is above average (seeings as the expected average rainfall for July happened within the first two weeks of July) making those sandals now look at us forlornly, winds make it chilly and you have to start layering cardigans, jackets and scarves over your summer dresses and are forced to wear sensible shoes and brandish your brolly at all times for fear of being stuck sans brolly in the middle of a downpour. Tropical this is not. And then to add more confusion to the summer dress+coat+maximum denier tights equation, the new A/W stock starts to trickle into stores!

Now, you'd think I'd be mad, I mean where was the sun?? But, as much as I LOVE the sun more than words can describe, I also love Winter fashion. The boots! The coats! The woolen accessories! So one has their beady little eye on every new morsel of Winter fashion that is seeping into stores. And what with the dire weather it has made it much easier for me to buy a few new transitional pieces already. Fur gilet? Check. Snood? Check. These pieces I can wear now, when the wind and heavy downpours get a bit too much, or when the rain catches my brolly off guard - my snood jumps in! Clever little transitional pieces.

And you know what? I don't even hope for an Indian Summer, gasp!! But then again, maybe my planned spot of travelling around the South of France is cushioning the (sun-less) blow??

Watching The Rachel Zoe Project!

I thought I best catch up if I'm to start watching the second series which airs on August 25th! And I absolutely love it! Oh the drama! Oh the fashion!

I loved it when Rachel turned around to her husband, after he questioned her logic over the naming of a 'hero' dress...she turned to him with the most evil look and said "you know I hate it when you trivialise what I do". Then more scowling. Amazing! And totally true. I hate people who do that.

And not forgetting I'm extremely jealous of her.

FYI, a 'hero' dress, is like, the dress, like THE dress, THEEE DRESSS! (To quote RZ). Hilarious.

My LOVEly weekend

I kicked the weekend off by taking my friends to my current favourite restaurant for food and wine. Woke on Saturday and made a fabulous breakfast to start our day, sauteed bananas on American waffles with syrup and cinnamon. Yum!

Lovebox Festival started bright and early at about 1:30 Saturday afternoon. The day itself is mostly a haze, of which I am still recollecting. But what I do remember was that in all her feathered, wavy red haired, pale, long-legged glory, Florence Welch and her ever-changing Machine were the absolute hi-light of a fantastic weekend. And I have now come to the conclusion that I love her (though I always thought I may, her performance cemented it).

We ended the weekend, feeling slightly dog-eared, no less, with a rummage around brimming Brick Lane. Where I picked up this funky sweater (pictured) for a few quid and a(nother) quirky jumpsuit-come-playsuit....it has culotte style trousers, so what do you call it? Is it a playsuit? Or is it a jumpsuit? Oh the fashion technicalities...

I've never been impartial to a spot of velvet! About two years ago, from the depths of a vintage sale bin, I retrieve an ink black velvet dress and matching little belt, I love it, the sister thinks it's monstrous. From the depths of another vintage sale bin, honestly this is how I spend my time, I find a perfect 60's meets Audrey Hepburn heavy and slightly crushed (actual fabric term, not the state of dress after being resurrected from said sale bin) velvet dress, for £2.50 (bargain, I know). So imagine my glee when I spot these beautiful Chloe trousers for the new season.....and then, alas! A velvet jumpsuit! Oh my! And I just love the curtain rope belt detail, definitely worth a rummage around my nans. Now I just need a high street retailer to cotton on to this velvet trend and muster up my dream autumn jumpsuit......please?

Yes, as you can gather I am back in London after my jollies in Las Vegas! And that is my excuse for why I haven't blogged in quite a while...I'm not even sorry, hello? I was in Vegas! It was a surreal holiday and I thoroughly enjoyed every single minute of it. 99c margaritas readily available more so than water, 40 degree heat, palm trees where we have weeds, waking up with an incredible view and clear blue sky every morning, crazily copious amounts of buffets, the social acceptability of starting ones drinking everyday with champagne for breakfast at 8AM and carrying on from there, I swear everyone is drunk. The quirky sights, lions, white tigers, flamingos, waterfalls, glitteringly altitudinous hotels, replicas of landmarks such as the Arc De Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, the Brooklyn Bridge, all with the breath taking back drop of the desert. Over the top? Yes. Tiring? Yes. Glamourously all encompassing? Most definitely. I didn't want to leave. New York: the City that doesn't sleep? I think you mean Vegas. And after all, if you're in Vegas, why would you want to??

I only really had today to figure out possible holiday outfits (after previous weeks of intensive thinking, searching and shopping!). They have been established and separated into the following categories: day outfits, evening outfits, outfits that could possibly be a mixture of the two, and poolside outfits. Tres organised! After sorting them out and putting them on hangers with coordinating accessories, I turned to head wear. A quick weather check on the ol' crackberry discovers that the weather will peak to 40 degrees during my 8 day stay in Vegas and so practical head wear must be enforced.

Pictured: A white half-turban, I also have this in black and a slightly shiny coral. Perfect, and won't make the head sweat. Nice.

My Missoni headscarf folded up a la Carrie Bradshaw en el older days. I love wearing my headscarves like this, it makes me feel like some sort of red Indian or something!

And thirdly, a 50's polka dot headscarf, tied into an over-sized bow at the nape of the neck. Chic and practical.

And if all else fails (because frazzled hair is never nice) I have stocked up on KMs California sun protectant products.

Here is my aforementioned vintage play suit. I loveee it! It may just be the most comfortable thing I own. Definitely suitable flight attire.

Banished winter clothes

I'm moving back to Manchester for my fourth year of uni in September, and come to realise that I've accumulated a whole new wardrobe, of which I need to somehow get back up north. Conclusion: make everyone that visits me from home from now on take a bag of stuff back with them! They do not know this yet...

First up to pack was my winter clothes. No need for them now that the weather has warmed up (ever so slightly). Gone are the tights, the hats, oh the extensive hats! The thick dresses have also gone. One of the dresses, I feel needs a mention, it's a vintage green 100% wool dress from Paris, and it's absolutely gorgeous, and fits so well. Though I do have a feeling other people may deem it a tad odd. The way it has been knitted is rather unique...
